Volunteer at Maya Creek
We welcome volunteers who want to experience sustainable living firsthand while contributing to our ongoing projects. Volunteering at Maya Creek is an immersive educational experience — you'll learn by doing, working alongside us on everything from garden cultivation to natural building projects.
What Volunteers Do
Depending on the season and current projects, volunteer work may include:
- Garden work: planting, weeding, harvesting, and food preservation
- Natural building: straw bale construction, earthen plastering, timber framing
- Trail building and land management
- Animal care
- Firewood processing and general homestead maintenance
- Help with workshops and events
What We Provide
In exchange for approximately 20 hours of work per week, volunteers receive:
- A place to stay (cabin space or camping)
- Meals from our garden and kitchen
- Hands-on education in sustainable living skills
- A chance to live in a beautiful natural setting
How to Apply
If you're interested in volunteering, please contact us with information about yourself, your interests and skills, when you'd like to come, and how long you'd want to stay. We ask that volunteers commit to at least two weeks to make the most of the experience.
